What to Expect

  • New clients, please arrive 15 minutes early on your first day with us for paperwork and orientation to our studio.
  • ALL clients, please arrive early! Your spot will be available to waitlist clients if you’re not checked in by the time class officially begins.
  • Bring a water bottle and towel if you prefer. A filtered water dispenser is provided for your convenience to refill your water bottle. Towels are your preference. We provide mats for your comfort during the floor portion but you are welcome to use a full-length towel on top.
  • Grip socks are required. You may bring your own or we will have them available for purchase in the studio.
  • We have showers and restrooms available for your use and cubbies in a safe location to store your personal belongings.

FAQ

Do I need to be a dancer to take classes at Barre Attitude?

Absolutely not! While our instructors are trained and experienced in dance, you do not need to be a dancer or have a dance background. In our Tone class, our skilled instructors will guide you through the ballet basics and barre work you need to know in fine detail, making corrections along the way until you are comfortable with the moves and technique. If you need additional instruction, just ask our team!

How is Barre Attitude different than other barre workouts?

What makes us unique is that we put a larger emphasis on ballet-based moves and cardio than other barre studios. Our team is made up of instructors with a strong dance and ballet background and are skilled in proper alignment and form. With the addition of a strong cardio section, it allows our workouts to be a true total-body experience. When you leave a Barre Attitude class, you will sweat, you will have fun, you will exhaust your muscles and you will not feel like you need to go for a run, in order to balance out your fitness routine.

What should I wear?

Whatever you are comfortable working out and sweating in! Most clients choose to wear yoga pants, but anything that allows you to move freely in are acceptable. Grip socks are required for sanitation purposes. You may bring your own or purchase them in the studio.

What do I need to bring to class?

The only thing you are required to bring are socks and YOU! It is recommended that you bring water to stay hydrated. We have a filtered water dispenser for your convenience if you forget. You may also bring a towel if you like to use one on top of the mats that are provided.

Where are you located?

We are located in the dynamic new development LBX! LBX is located on Carson and Lakewood Blvd, just down the street from the Long Beach airport. LBX is a large development and navigating it can be tricky at first. We are near the Hangar, located on ‘fitness row’ at the back side (West side) of the complex.

Where should I park?

LBX is a busy, buzzing new development and with that comes crowded parking! Please, please, please arrive early to get your spot and get signed in to class on time. There is parking on the West side, off Worsham Ave right by the studio. If that is full, we recommend parking in the large parking lot where Nordstrom Rack is located. Finding parking is not a problem but planning in advance for that is key!

What age is too old to participate in a Barre Attitude class?

Absolutely no age is too old!! We welcome all ages and fitness levels. Health and wellness can become a priority at any stage of life and we encourage everyone to come try our methods to see if we are a good fit for you.

I am out of shape and not at my ideal weight, can I still do barre?

100% yes! We all have to start somewhere. Every class, exercise, and movement can be modified to make it work for your level. We recommend starting with our Tone class to get familiar with our movements, style and technique. You may stay in that class for as long as necessary to get comfortable before trying out another class.

I’m a guy! Can I take barre classes?

Not only is the answer YES, we encourage men to take our classes! The barre clientele is heavily female, but men can benefit tremendously from barre. It can help men with balance, coordination, flexibility and core strength. Barre is a great addition to round out your current fitness routine or to add to a sports training regimen. We would love to see you at the barre!

I have injuries, can I still take classes?

Yes!! Please arrive early and talk to your instructor about your injury so they can offer you some modifications. Our instructors are here for YOU and take great concern in your health and safety. Barre can be restorative for many injuries because of the strengthening of the surrounding muscle groups. But please talk to a medical professional to make sure your exercising within safe boundaries for your specific injury. We are here to help you on your path to recovery!

I am pregnant, should I be taking barre classes?

Absolutely! But please consult your physician to make sure barre is a good option for you. Barre is a low-impact workout and can be modified throughout the duration of your pregnancy. Remaining active during your pregnancy can make all the difference in your post-pregnancy recovery. Make sure to inform your instructors that you are pregnant so modifications can be made. And congratulations!!
